As a part of her phenomenal success, Katie Godfrey got the chance to be the author of Amazon’s number 1 bestselling book, ‘Extraordinary Women’. The book includes the journey of twelve women (including Katie), who have reached the top of their professions. It encloses the reasons behind their success, the challenges they faced on their way up, and most importantly, how they maintained a work life balance. As a result, it tracks the inspirational story of these twelve women so that readers can learn some powerful stuff on how to manage their career, business, finances, and relationships altogether.
Since Katie was one of those twelve successful women, she shares her story of how she set up her brand without any qualifications.
Katie was brought up in Luton, Bedfordshire, under an incredible family. However, at the age of 13, she left school due to the bullying she faced. Thus, with barely any qualification, Katie started modeling that built up her confidence and eventually helped her to build a business without even her realizing it. Even though initially she launched a model agency at the age of 18, within a year she went to open up a salon, KG Salon, that soon became a multi award winning beauty salon. Since at first Katie was stuck under bank loans and debt, she faced a lot of challenges to run her business. Yet she did not give up. As she strived to give people what they desired, she fulfilled all the requests of her followers that eventually helped her increase her organic reach. Simultaneously, she also started learning marketing and business tactics on her own so that she could further build up her brand. And as a result, Katie’s salon started to grow and today specializes in eyelash extensions, through which it has won numerous awards including ‘Babtac Eyelash Technician of the Year’, ‘Most outstanding salon of the year’, and most recently, “Best Beauty Salon in the East of England”.
With the success of her salon, Katie went to expand her brand and introduced KG Professional, an international beauty training academy and product range, where she helped other people gain the skills and qualifications so that they could either work for themselves or become or employable. Her training was combined with the launch of her top quality, which she believed truly worked. Moreover, as people were inspired by her entrepreneurial journey, she also started mentoring businesses in the beauty and hair industry under another branch known as, KG Business Mentor.
To date, the inspiring young entrepreneur has achieved a lot despite the challenges she faced. That being so, Katie hopes to continue to grow and be known worldwide through her training methods and products.
