A German air force plane with 102 Germans and 26 foreigners repatriated from the Chinese city of Wuhan, the epicenter of the new coronavirus epidemic, landed in Germany on Saturday, an AFP journalist said.
The aircraft arrived at 15:40 p.m. at Frankfurt airport, where passengers are examined in a specially equipped lounge.
Those without symptoms will then be transported by bus to a military barracks near the town of Germersheim, where they will remain in custody for two weeks.
Earlier, German Health Minister Jens Spahn said that all passengers who boarded the flight had no “symptoms” of illness.
However, he indicated that all would be examined upon arrival and those with signs of contagion would be taken to a hospital in Frankfurt.
The epidemic has already killed 259 people and infected 12,000 in China. The virus has already reached more than 20 countries, including Germany, where seven people have been reported infected so far.
