The principle of maximum precaution guided Apple’s decision to close all its stores in China until at least February 9th
The precautions to avoid the spread of the new Coronavirus, which has passed to a man in the Chinese city of Wuhan and is now spreading on a global scale, seem to be never too many. The same thought has guided Apple’s decision to close all its shops in Chinese territory, as a precautionary measure, at least until next February 9.

Online sales will not be affected by the measure. The virus has officially infected more than 10,000 people in China and led to the death of more than 200 individuals. However, some scientists believe that the number of infections should be increased by at least a factor of 10 in reality.
The situation in China is undoubtedly critical, while it seems that outside the Chinese borders, the number of infections is not zero, but remains low enough not to speak of a pandemic. For example, the GSMA’s decision not to move/postpone/cancel the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona, which is currently scheduled for February 24-27.
