If you have come across the name Lone Star Keto Girl on social media you would know that Amber Wentworth is currently doing very well in her life, both personal and professional. A few years back she would not have imagined a time when she would be so mentally and physically fit that she would start helping other people with their body image and health problems.
Amber Wentworth has been married to her high school sweetheart for 35 years, has two grown kids and a granddaughter. She lives in Texas and also has two chocolate labs. She is currently working as a nutrition and life coach to help others achieve health via diet and lifestyle changes. Her success is solely credited to herself, her willpower, desire to help others, and experience with the keto and carnivore diets.
She became inspired to start her coaching business after experiencing the health benefits of these diets firsthand. She dealt with body image and weight issues from the age of 10 when she started getting bullied in school and shamed for developing quicker than the other girls in her class. Hence, from such a young age society fed her mind that if you don’t look a certain way from the outside, then you will not be accepted in society. Amber developed a complicated relationship with her body and felt that she was deformed. She turned to just about every diet out there in order to lose weight and became a full-blown anorexic and bulimic by the age of 15. At 17, she weighed 98 pounds and was in a size 00, yet still felt she was fat and undesirable.
After having kids, she began to gain weight again and eventually became too depressed to even go out in public due to the fear of being judged and shamed again. At 5’2”, her heaviest weight topped 245 lbs, wearing a size 26-28. Her body image deteriorated quickly as well as her health. She had several health scares that kicked her in gear to losing a huge amount of weight again. Her struggle with weight loss signifies that past trauma and unresolved issues can drastically affect one’s health and views about their body. Amber aims to reach as many people as possible to show that what we’ve been told is healthy for us may not be working for us after all and that we need to get back to a proper human diet. We need to know that we have the control to make the necessary changes regardless of the ideal body type and lifestyle promoted by the mainstream.
All these years, Amber Wentworth considered her body as the enemy when the real reasons behind her health issues were the societal standards and lack of information regarding what a truly healthy body should look and feel like.
