If you’ve decided to change your look, here’s how to do it right and without risk
Dyeing hair is the easiest way to decisively change your appearance and revitalize a hair we no longer like. You have to do it, however, in the right way to avoid taking risks or ruining your hair: here are the useful tips and everything you need to know about colouring.
Colouring doesn’t ruin hair
One of the most controversial false myths when it comes to hair dyeing is that colouring hurts the hair and makes it more fragile. The reality is that dyeing – performed with professional products – does not affect the health of the hair and, on the contrary, makes the hair brighter. What is true is that you don’t have to dye hair that is already badly damaged and worn out, in this case, it is better to revitalize it with specific products before applying the colour to obtain a satisfactory and more lasting result.
Is the colouring of the hair definitive?
There is no univocal answer to this question: never as in this case depends on the type of colouring you do and the product you use. With reflexes, meches and degrades, we speak of temporary hair dyes that can be removed easily and with the use of specific shampoos. The same goes for colouring with henna products, for example, which go away within a month without the use of a special shampoo.
The only colouring which, on the contrary, is definitive, is permanent. In this case, there are no products to eliminate the colour and the only way to return to the natural colour is to wait for the regrowth or cover the tone with a different one.
The secrets? Step by step colouring and hair care
The secret to dyeing your hair in the healthiest and most correct way possible is to colour it gradually. It is difficult, therefore, to go from black to blond in a single session (unless you use very aggressive products that ruin the hair and skin); the ideal solution is to proceed step by step whether you want to lighten the hair or to go from blond to a darker colour.
After dyeing it is necessary, finally, to take care of your hair with masks, packs, shampoos and conditioners ad hoc: having a healthy and well-groomed hair will also be suitable for the colour making it shiny even after a long time.
